Get Your Google Analytics “Not Provided” Keywords Back

Google Analytics Not ProvidedIt’s been 1122 days since Google discontinued reporting keywords for organic traffic in Google Analytics for logged in users, according to which tracks a bunch of sites for a live count percentage.

Since then everyone has been trying to figure out a way to get it back – anything from Google Analytics filter hacks, using webmaster tools and trying to match up or guess at data.

I have found each one of those methods to completely SUCK. They don’t work well, are unreliable and at the end of the day you’re just guessing at the data anyway. They might be better than nothing, but barely.

Now the Good News!

Get your Google Analytics Not Provided Keywords Back

Authority LabsFor the last 30 days or so, I have been using a new feature called “Now Provided” released by Authority Labs who I had previously used for only keyword ranking data.

Disclaimer: My friend Brian is the CMO at Authority Labs and he’s one smart dude although I rarely admit to it because he’s got a big enough head as it is 🙂  This post was written out of my own free will and in no way influenced by Brian.

I have to say I AM IN LOVE. (With the feature – not you, Brian.)

Their “Now Provided” report basically gives you a report of keywords that are driving traffic to your landing pages. Kind of like how Google Analytics used to do, but stopped. It requires that you link you Google Analytics account to their system and then they process your landing pages for keywords that you’re getting traffic with.

The whole thing takes about 3 minutes to set up, but it is not complicated like creating some filter in your GA profile with fancy programming language. You just authorize your account and then go and link the profile to the domain.

Another sweet deal is that there is no limit on the number of accounts you can link this with. You’re only limited by how many domains you have available based on your level of account at Authority Labs. In other words, if you have their 50-domain plan you can link 50 domains for this.

Here’s what one of my “Now Provided” keywords reports looks like. You can also watch a video that includes the now provided google analytics review.

Google Analytics Not Provided Defeated

As you can see, the first line that is orange has a “/” which is the URL relative to the domain root. In the example above, these are some keywords driving traffic to the home page of this site.

Below that are all the keywords that are driving traffic to that page, along with the current ranking position for that page, search volume and a number of other metrics. I can then click the “+ Add” at the right to add that keyword to be tracked for my rankings.

Free 30 Day Trial

You can see for yourself with their free 30 day trial.

There’s no special code and you don’t have to enter a credit card to sign up. Just go to and create your free account.

Here’s How Simple it is to Set Up

I made a quick Authority Labs Review video of how to set up your Authority Labs account and get your “now provided” keywords back in less than 4 minutes!

You can also watch this video on Youtube.

Serious About Internet Marketing?

If you’re serious about internet marketing and tracking your keywords, I don’t know how you’d live without Authority Labs. At least give their 30 day free trial a spin and see how it does for you.
